The Tragedy of The Woodcutter

image
"Woodcutter" by Paul Gavarni

A woodcutter lived on his home so lovely
He had everything – food, clothes, coins, and loo
But one night he broke for he was grave lonely
Death by solitude lest cut himself to two.

And the woodcutter thought he was dead no more
He watched his dead legs and he felt not alone
He reveled in joy as he laid on the floor
But the life was long spilt before he had known.
